How to become a member ?
A request for membership in the Federation must be received by the General Secretariat at least two months before the date of the General Assembly. Please check with our categories of membership in which category your organization would fall. Should you wish to become an ISF member, please contact the ISF Secretariat
| Ordinary Members | Ordinary members are national seed trade and/or plant breeders associations. |

| Associate Members | Associate members are individual companies acting in plant breeding and/or seed trade. According to the ISF Articles of Association all seed companies wishing to become ISF Associate Member from a country where a national seed association is already an Ordinary Member of ISF that company will also need to be a member of that national seed association |
| Affiliate Members | Affiliate members are provider companies to the seed industry such as crop protection companies, seed testing labs, molecular labs, etc. or related associations that do not fall into category of an Ordinary Member. |
| Tree and Shrub Seed Group | Members in this group are national associations of tree and shrub seed companies and/or individual companies active in this field. This category of members is different from the others. The Tree and Shrub Seed Group usually meets once a year for two to three days and cannot participate in the ISF World Seed Congresses. |
| Observers | This category of membership is open to potential Ordinary Members for a period of two years and potential Associate Members for one year in which to decide if they wish to become a regular member of the Federation. |
